“ Akashi is still going strong! The move to this Million dollar view in the same Shopping Plaza and Marina (Waterpoint on Lake Conroe) a few years ago was well worth the boost to the overall dining experience. Try any number of their growing chilled Sake collection, beers (bottles and on tap), wines and full bar libations. My favorite spot is to be parked at the bar with a prune water view! The food ranges from good to great, with my go to items being the Tuna Pouch (or pocket, I always get the name wrong - but trust me, it is excellent), the Crispy Duck, Salt and Pepper Wings / Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Shrimp and Lobster Sauce, Mongolian Triple Delight, and a number of typical Americanized Chinese dishes. This location also added a large area to provide Hibachi griddle / tables featuring cooking, a customer favorite. While I am not a dessert person (opting for the Unagi Sashimi to satisfy any sweet desire) they have a number of choices, including cheesecakes and cakes. Come and enjoy this place with your family inside or out on the copious waterfront patio! If you are a single or couple, come join the regulars at the bar as we look forward to growing our group of characters. ”

“ This review is only for Hibachi as we did not use the regular restaurant or menu. Plenty of room and seating. We arrived at 12:15pm and the place seemed empty except a couple customers which seemed odd for a Sunday lunchtime on the lake. We asked for Hibachi and hostess asked if we had an appt, we said no and hostess said OK but we asked if we would have to wait for a table to be full before cooking would start if so we would of opted for regular restaurant. Hostess said no problem and got us seated quickly and all the hibachi tables were empty except me and my GF. We had the table along back wall and had a great view looking out over the lake. Drinks and salad and soup arrived fast then chef arrived a few minutes later. We ordered salmon, chicken and shrimp.. plenty of food as we could not finish it all and took leftovers in to go container. Everything was seasoned good and tasted great. Our Chef was one my GF has had in previous visits to this place with her daughter so our conversation was more of a friendly manner then first visit small talk. Highly recommend hibachi ”

“ We visited a couple different times throughout December. Because it's a family favorite. Like from the 77 year old to the 5 year old. Service is always great and if there is a mix up on something they quickly correct and make it right. Their sushi and hibachi are most favored but we also love the family meals (great price for so much variety in food). It's pretty cool that the whole family loves it! ”

“ Love that this place is in the neighborhood! It's not unassuming (it's certainly one of the nicest places on the lake), but you wouldn't think a sushi place on Lake Conroe would be THIS good... but it is!! I've sat both at the bar and received table service. Both experiences are quite enjoyable! The wait staff here is fabulous. They always have great recommendations, and their suggestions have become our favorites. All of the sushi rolls I've had are excellent, but my personal favorite is the "Art of Maki". I could eat that every day!! I 1000% recommend. Drinks are great, rolls are great, all of their other food is great. You really can't go wrong. With a big group or just a date night, if you're looking for any sort of Asian food in the Montgomery area, give Akashi a visit! ”

“ My wife and I enjoyed our second visit recently for lunch. Fast, friendly service, and great views of lake Conroe. Between the two of us we ordered three sushi rolls -- Fuji volcano, mango tango, and New Orleans. Of those 3 we liked the mango tango the best because it wasn't heavy on the palette. Our second favorite was the Fuji volcano, with great seafood flavor paired nicely with the other ingredients. It was ok, but I probably wouldn't order the New Orleans roll again. All in all, we're fans and will be back. ”
